Introduction
Many inventions have changed the course of history that will live on for centuries to improve humanitarian standards. A time telling device is something so useful that we all take for granted. The first-time telling device date back to accent Egypt in 3500 BCE. The Egyptians built tall stones structures with the purpose of casting a shadow on the ground that allowed people to discern the suns position and relative time.

With time devices started to improve and in 1656 Galileo had an idea to uses a swinging bob to regulate the motion of a time-telling device which lead into the first ever mechanical clock. In 1881 K. Hattoir established Seiko corporation and later in 1892 Seikosha clock supply factory began producing wall clocks. “Applauded for its accuracy

and craftsmanship, the Seiko watch became a resounding success and by 1938, demand for the timepieces pushed yearly production to well over one million watches” (NewWorldClocks pg1). Now Seiko corporation not only specializes in wall clocks but in various types of model that includes the Chime Clock.
Description of Seiko Chime Clock

A Seiko Chime Clock is a device used to measure, store and indicate time. On the clock there are numbers used from 1 to 12 to indicate the hours, minutes and seconds. Hour is shown with the big hand that goes around fully twice in a day to complete 24 hours, while the small hand is used to demonstrate minutes. The bigger numbers increase by 5 minutes while the little lines in between increase by one. For example, one represents 5 minutes, 2 will represent 10 minutes and so on. Together there are 60 lines in a clock because there are 60 seconds in a minutes and 60 minutes in an hour. The hour hand moves at a slower pace than the minute hand since it takes longer for the hour to change compared to minutes. During a single rotation, the minute hand will go around 12 times and the minute hand will pass the hour hand 22 times in a 24-hour period. Lastly, the thinner

and fastest ticking hand in the clock is used to represent seconds. A second hand will rotate 1440 full times in a day. In a Seiko Chime Clock, the clock displays a sound of a bell or gong at every hour to show the hour has changed.
Instructions
Below are the instructions to work your Seiko chime clock
Step 1
Turn the clock around so you can see the operational parts. You will want to find the black box on the back of the clock. This is considered the control panel for setting your Seiko clock.
Step 2
Turn the round knob on the top of the control panel clockwise to adjust the time. Both clock hands will move in a clockwise direction. Keep rotating the knob until you reach the right time.
Step 3
Adjust the a.m. or p.m. setting by moving the “Time Switch” to either “AM” or “PM.”
Step 4
Adjust the chime volume by turning the round knob underneath the time setting knob. You will see “MIN” and “MAX” imprinted on the plastic just below the knob. Turn the knob as far right or left until you reach a volume that is comfortable for you.
Step 5
Change the chime melody by moving the chime selector switch (to the left of the volume control knob). Most chime clocks feature at least two different chime options. You can set either one by moving the switch to the right or left.
Step 6
Stop the chime from playing at night by moving the “AM/PM” switch to the chime location. There is an image all the way to the left showing a chime. This will turn off the chime at 11 p.m. at night and turn it back on a 5:45 a.m. The shut off and on times cannot be changed.

Conclusion
The Seiko Chime Clock is a technical advancement needed in our day to day life. Despite its simplicity to the naked eye the Seiko Chime Clock is a complex device used to enhance our life skills and make life easier. The beautiful craftmanship and the pendulum make it appealing while masking the great use of it and the inner working is well detailed and meticulously put together. Without the clock it would be very difficult for people to be punctual and everyone would be unaware of the time. In addition, everyone can benefit from the Seiko Chime Clock due to the fact that it chimes every hour, meaning even the visually impaired people will be able to get great use of it. The chime clock will continue to be technological marvel in the years to come.

Self-Reflection
For this paper, the people reading this do not have linguistic difference for me. However, to make sure all my readers do understand my topic I had to use simple language and break down everything so that anyone can understand and be informed with what a chime clock does and purpose. This paper enhanced my strategies of being able to describe every aspect of an object that always seemed so simple. Having to write a definition for a clock seemed so simple you know its an object that tells the time but having to talk about all the parts and describe it was more difficult than I expected. In addition, this writing enhanced my strategies of revision because normally I don’t write draft then go back to it but this time I did, and it made me see clearly my improvement and what I need to change. During my thinking process I was only writing with my understanding in mind, I knew that if I said one thing I would be able to understand it due to my prior knowledge but later I realized that am not writing this for myself I need to make sure my audience understands what I am trying to describe without expectations that they have the same prior knowledge as I do. Having the opportunity of peer review made it clearer for me the path I was going in and what needed to be changed or added, I got to have feedback from an audience member and see if they understand. Multimodal composition was used in this paper. Photos were used in order to better explain the item I was attempting to describe. No genres were crossed in this paper. I did not have a stance in this writing piece, the whole purpose of this essay was to describe and inform the audience of a Seiko Chime Clock. Overall, I do think I tried to get my audience to appreciate a clock in general. In this piece of writing I used many sources to increase my knowledge on this topic, this is a very heavy researched based assignment, before being able to write I had look up many things. With most of my source I paraphrased a lot rather than quoting and siting my source, I find it to be easier that way so that my reader can have a better understanding of the topic.
